Taylor Grant - Therapist

About Me

I am a South Bay native, Manhattan Beach Middle School and Mira Costa High School graduate who has been working with children, tweens, and teens therapeutically for the entirety of my career as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. As someone who grew up as a teen athlete in the South Bay, I hold a special place in my heart for young humans navigating the challenges that often come with being raised in a competitive, high-achieving environment.

I began my clinical training as a psychotherapist at a middle school where I worked closely with children and families navigating complex issues such as divorce and single-parent homes. The second half of my traineeship, I worked with young adults navigating substance abuse and undiagnosed mood disorders. I previously worked in private practice in Redondo Beach as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist where I worked with tweens, teens and adults navigating the complexity of eating disorders, OCD, severe anxiety, depression and PTSD. I have worked with children, ages 7-12 years old, and their families, assisting them in moving through trauma and nervous system issues. I have had the honor of witnessing people find healing and sustained recovery from various addictions and mental health challenges, operate from a more enlightened place, find new meaning in their lives, mend current relationships, create new ones, leave abusers, and re-discover their voices.

While I specialize in working with children, tween, and teen athletes, I have found that my personal and professional experience with recovery has allowed me to help others who are navigating the unique challenges of addiction. I am deeply entrenched in my sobriety and find great purpose in helping others recover their authentic selves through the recovery process.

I believe that knowing a little about the human sitting across from you or your loved one is important, so here is a little about me outside of the therapy space.

I grew up as an equestrian, beginning horseback riding at 8 years old in Palos Verdes. During a high-conflict divorce between my parents, horses offered me solace. I have found the grounding presence of horses (and animals in general) to be invaluable resources in keeping me grounded up to this day.

Dancing was another key part of my tween and teen-hood. After being trained in classical ballet, I spent the majority of my high school career on the Mira Costa High School dance team.

Additionally, I received my 200-hour yoga teacher training certification during the COVID-19 pandemic. Connecting with mindful movement helps me find reprieve from a busy mind on the daily.
